I am still working on the body of large canvas landscapes to be released in New York in 2011. These works are all on canvas, most of them quite large (upwards to 12ft unstretched). They are painted with a Pollock like technique, the paint thrown, splattered and dripped onto the canvas, using brushes and sticks. The painting's subject matter are landscapes and the style, impressionist. Since I am currently on sojourn, the latest paintings are painted outdoors using the surrounding area as inspiration and could be considered plein air.
Though they appear quite divergent from my contemporary fresco work, it isn't so. It was through the natural abstractive nature of the stone, that I found my vision. It is through this new technique I am able to express it fully.
Other than links and events this site will be used mainly for for d.goth contemporary frescoes and hearts of stone. The new works can be viewed at two other sites for the time being. To view a partial list of large canvas landscapes see: http://dianacareyart.blogspot.com
Contemporary frescoes and hearts of stone are currently produced on a commission basis. I do have some works completed that are available in the portfolio section of this site.
Hearts of Stone workshops are posted in advance.
If you are interested in work, attending or hosting a workshop, please contact me at: info@dgoth.net
thank you.
