"Art should evoke and portray the artists fibre, his struggles and his vision. It should elicit a strong emotional response from the viewer, making him consider the palette and brush with which he himself is painted."

Contemporary frescoes are original paintings on porous stone. The stones are broken, mosaic fashion, an image is then determined using the stones properties and what I see in the cracks and breaks. I call it "rorschart".
The paintings may be a solid piece, a cutaway, one stone divided or a montage of stones. They
come in a variety of subject matter from fantasy to liturgical.
All contemporary frescoes are unique, original paintings, they are not kiln fired reproductions. Many contemporary frescoes come with poetry about the piece. All are mounted on wood with hardware and are ready to on walls or adorn an easel.
Hearts of Stone are contemporary frescoes with a heart theme.  these may be broken, multifaceted, subtle, brilliant, mended or in pieces. They may incorporate objects in the desgin to indicate emotion.  All come with poetry specific to the heart. All are unique, just like the hearts they represent. The hearts of stone poems can be  viewed at the end of the hearts in the hearts of stone portfolio.
Paintings are done in a variety of mediums on numerous surfaces. I paint in acrylic and watercolor. I draw in pencil, chalk and pastel. Most of these are done on canvas and paper but I have been known to paint on any surface that didn't move too fast. I also have encaustic reproductions of some of my work.
